Dallas Black Men and Boys Initiative

The Dallas Black Men and Boys Initiative is designed to bring attention to life span issues impacting black men and boys in the Dallas area and make recommendations that address structural barriers black boys and men face in society. The Dallas BMBI campaign brings together a working group of 10 professionals, program specialists, researchers and advocates that work with black men and boys to guide a research, public education and research dissemination effort. The goal of the interdisciplinary working group is to explore unasked questions, account for existing black men and boys strategies, identify gaps in services, bring attention to black men and boy’s issues and make the case for needed reforms and programming.
